Your work and your data
Your footage does not leave your machine. Cutting, editing and analysis all happen locally, and no video file is uploaded anywhere.
There is one exception you should know about: transcription. Turning speech into text means the audio has to be sent to a transcription service.
And when you ask EditFast AI for something, what it needs for that request — your message, still frames from the video, the transcript, the pictures you attach — goes through our server to the AI service that answers. No video file is sent, we do not keep any of it, and your chats are saved on your own machine.
- The audio (never the video) passes through our server to the transcription service we use — Groq, with Deepgram as a backup — so our own keys are used. We forward it, return the text, and do not keep the audio.
- If you added a key of your own (Groq) in an older version of the plugin, the audio goes from your machine straight to that service. We never see it.
What we keep about your account: your email, your name and phone if you gave them, payment orders and receipt images, registered devices, how many transcription minutes and EditFast AI credits you used, and how many times each of the plugin's tools was used — counts only, nothing from your projects. That is all.
A service key you added in an older version of the plugin stays on your own machine, in the settings folder, and never reaches us.
We count visits to the site ourselves, on our own server: which pages were opened and which site sent people, with no IP address stored and no third-party analytics.
When we are running ads, the site loads the advertising pixel of the platform we are advertising on — TikTok or Meta — on every page outside the admin panel. That pixel is theirs, not ours: it may set cookies, and it tells them that a visit or an order happened and for how much, so we can see whether an ad worked. It never receives your name, your phone number, your payment details, or anything at all from your projects. In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it loads only after you say yes in the box the site shows you, and a no is remembered just the same.
One thing about you does go with it, and only once you have an account: a SHA-256 fingerprint of your email address. It is worked out inside your own browser, and what leaves your machine is the fingerprint and never the address. The platform compares it against its own to tell whether the person who bought is the person who saw the ad; it cannot turn it back into an email. If you would rather none of this ran, block trackers in your browser — that stops the fingerprint too, and the site works exactly the same way.
Your country is worked out from your IP address, on our own server, using a free offline database (IP to Country Lite by DB-IP, CC BY 4.0). It decides which currency to show you and which language to open in, nothing else. Your address is not sent anywhere for this — the lookup happens entirely on our machine.
If you want your account and its data deleted, message us and we will delete it.
